There's only so many Sundays in a football season. They wanna make money, they gotta put fans in seats and eyeballs on tubes. Most churches have their services early enough in the morning that the die-hard religious need not be mutually exclusive from the die-hard fan. Though there's some interesting ideas you bring up here...
